Piffle is a free to play ball-bouncing game, developed by Hipster Whale and distributed by Crossy Road. It takes the basic template of the genre, and then layers on a pound and a half of cuteness.
Piffle is not as heavy as holedown, nor as light as the puff-piece block breakers, we’ve experienced from developers like Voodoo. It’s somewhere in between, which makes it just fine.
After a brief bit of preamble involving certain light kidnapping, you’re brought to the stars of the show. These are the so-called piffles, which are super-chibi little fuzzy balls that you’re going to throw at things.
Each level starts with the player having a small number of piffles. However, there are more piffles scattered amongst the block you’re attempting to destroy. After you hit one, they’ll join your squad, providing you more ammo for your any upcoming shot.
In Piffle, levels are all about clearing a set of a fixed number of blocks. You’ll see how many you’re attempting to trash at the top of the screen, as well as being able to monitor the track of your score. The more points you make, the better your return.
During the play, you’ll see different kinds of blocks coming your way. Some of them move around the screen, and some are cut off at various angles to work and throw your carefully aimed shots off.
